Starke United & You...Doing What Matters!    

Funds raised as part of our annual campaign can be provided as designated (to a specific agency) or undesignated (without a specific agency designated), in which case Starke United, as part of its annual resource deployment process, divides funding across agencies based upon community need. Funding distribution for the 2005 campaign follows:

CADA $1,400.00 Awareness & Education-Raising the awareness and educating the residents and victims of Starke County about domestic violence and sexual assault, and the services available to them.
Communities in Schools $2,500.00 To purchase basic needs for students that could not be secured through other compassion centers.
Community Services of Starke County $1,750.00 Gift Of Warmth
Community Services of Starke County $1,000.00 Local match for a w/clift modified van
Friends of the Park Association of Knox $1,000.00 Building Skate Park in Wythogan Park
Girl Scouts of the Singing Sands $500.00 Comprehensive Youth Development
Healthy Families of Starke County $3,000.00 ABC Car Seat Program
Hoosier Valley Railroad Museum $250.00 Safety Gear - Crew/Public Gear for Tourist Train Passenger Safety
Junior Achievement $3,000.00 Economics For Success/JA's new program for 7th grade
St. Vincent de Paul Society $1,000.00 To Provide Utility assistance, medical help, food or shelter to needy families within the North Judson-San Pierre area.
Starke County CASA $500.00 CASA program Training and clothing when necessitated.
Starke County WIC Program $400.00 Enhancing classes with a useful item to use at home to reinforce the class topic, improving parenting skills.
Starke County Youth Club $1,700.00 Homework Help/Tutoring
The Caring Place $2,000.00 To provide services and shelter for victims of domestic violence and sexual assault and their dependent children from Starke County.

Grant applicants were aware of amount of designated funds received.
